fall break in gatlinburg

We may start school ridiculously early here, long before I am ready for the girls to go back to school, but we are blessed to have a super awesome two week long fall break and we always try to make the most of it.  We have been wanting to get a cabin with our friends, the Spanns, for awhile and decided to finally do it.  Oh, the kids were over the moon and so excited!  They could not wait to not only go to the Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, but to stay in a cabin with some of their favorite friends.   We had an absolute blast!!  The only part that was sad was that it went way, way, way too fast, as fun vacations usually do.

We were very excited to hit the trails and get some hiking miles in.  The first hike we did was Grotto Falls, which is a good one to do with kids.  The falls are so beautiful and it's not too far.  Last time we hiked it, it was freezing cold, this time it was more on the warm side, but not too terribly hot.  We had a blast an love spending time in nature together.  I am always amazed by just how beautiful and diverse our country is!  We love living near the Smokey mountains because they really are absolutely gorgeous!
