picking berries

We always try to pick strawberries this time of year!  We have a great farm here with the most delicious berries.  My girls are crazy about strawberries.  Not only are they so good to just eat plain, they also make the most delicious strawberry freezer jam!

We have been trying to pick strawberries for a few months but it never worked out either because of weather or activities.  Today my friend and I spontaneously decided we should go.  It was the perfect day to go because there were tons of berries and it hardly took any time to fill the baskets!  My friend brought her camera and got some of the cutest shots.  Our kids are the best of friends and this impromptu trip was a dream come true for them!  It was such a fun morning and I am looking forward to getting more jam in the freezer!

mother's day

We had a nice Mother's Day!  It was just a nice low key day spent with the people I love so much!  Jeff helped the girls make a yummy breakfast and we spent the day just enjoying being together.  I am so grateful I have the opportunity to be a mother.  I absolutely love being a mom and I love this period of life we are in right now.  Some days are crazy hard, some days are exhausting, some days are fun, and others are heavenly.  I love so much about these girls, but what I love the most is their hearts.  They all have the sweetest hearts.  They love to make others happy and they just want to make good choices.  I have been blessed beyond what I deserve!

graduation program

Savanna had a cute little graduation program at her school this week!  She sang some darling songs that we have been hearing for a month or so at home!  She did an awesome job.  She also got her diploma and they did awards.  She got the best reader award.  Go Savanna!!  Heidi was funny because she said, "She must get that from me." Jeff and I were cracking up.  We are proud of this girl and can't wait to see what is in store for her bright future!  We love you to the moon and back Zanny Zoo!

graduation for savanna

This little beauty is ready for kindergarten!!!  Happy graduation my gorgeous, happy girl!  We love you so very much!

an end to pre-k

Savanna's pre-k year went way too fast. It feels like yesterday I was taking Heidi there for pre-k and Savanna was crying that Heidi was leaving her.  Now Savanna is finishing and I just can't wrap my head around how this is happening already.  Savanna had a really fun year, mostly because she was in a class some really fun girls.  Riley was in her class last year and they loved playing together.  This year she made another friend named Hannah.  Heidi went to pre-k with Hannah's big brother and her mom and I knew Hannah and Savanna were going to be friends and sure enough, they were inseparable from day 1.  We heard about Riley and Hannah every day she went to school and she lucked out when they ended up in her dance class as well.  She also loved days when they did science experiments and started learning to read.  It was a good year and we are so proud of her and have enjoyed watching her learn and grow this year!

read-a-palooza

We are just so proud of this girl!  She is so incredibly smart and has always been such a little reader. They track the reading and comprehension of the kids through AR (accelerated reader) points.  Each time you read a book, you can take a test on it on the computer to test your comprehension.  Heidi read her heart out this year an ended up with 200 AR points...the fifth highest total in her entire school of 750 kids!!!  I am so proud of her!  The district had the top 25 kids go on a special district wide field trip to Montgomery Bell State Park.  Heidi was SO excited about this...especially because her best friend Avery was also going.  She had an absolute blast.  She played in the creek most of the day because it was such a hot day.  She also ran into two friends from church who go to different schools and had fun doing a water fight with them.  She came home exhausted, but still had piano lessons and a soccer game!  She slept hard that night!  Way to go, Heidi!  You are a rock star!

miscellaneous photos

Heidi had a literacy night at her school.  I love that they have family nights for reading and science.  She really has a fantastic school and we could not be happier or more grateful for all of the experiences she is having.  She loves school and she loves learning.  When it was the literacy night, we were double booked and Jeff was out of town.  Thankfully my friend and neighbor said she would take Heidi. I was so grateful and Heidi was so thankful she was able to attend.  My friend sent me pictures of her and I thought she looked so pretty in this picture.

Whenever my phone is charging, Caimbree likes to sneak in my room and take selfies.  I am really going to miss these funny little pictures appearing on my phone.  We have had a few little sick bugs between Savanna and Caimbree and Caimbree even put herself down for a couple of naps, which never happens because she gave up naps long ago.

the games they play

I am certainly going to miss all of the signs of the girls at the stages they are in.  I love their little minds and the games they come up with.  Caimbree can be found anywhere her dad is if he is home...she loves to follow him the yard, ride on the lawn mower, and just be his little buddy.  When Jeff isn't home, she like to read to herself and she can almost always be found in a costume of some kind.

Savanna plays cars at least once or twice a day.  When I ask to play with her, she makes sure you follow how she wants you to play.  She wants you to move one car at a time a few inches.  Once the first car moves, she wants the one behind it to catch up, and so on keeping them all in a straight line.  She doesn't like it when you try to add anything to the game.  It's funny.  When she wakes up, she often plays on her car mat.  I think it's fun that she is into cars and Caimbree will occasionally play with her.

Heidi loves to play school.  She likes to use her stuffed animals as students.  She makes them worksheets, sets up desks, and even makes them report cards.  Sometimes she wakes up early to play.  I wonder if she will be a teacher one day.

the perfect day

Savanna and Caimbree have the cutest relationship.  They mostly play well together, they giggle and laugh most of their time together, and they are both so protective of each other.  It is so sweet.  I am really going to miss having Savanna home next year and I know Caimbree is going to miss her so much.  One day I asked them what their perfect day would include.  They wanted to walk around the lake, go to the library and get new books, and play at a park.  So we had the perfect day and everyone was happy!

spring soccer

Spring soccer is just about over!  One more game to go!  The girls had such a great season and have both improved.  Heidi was a star goalie this season on top of being a rock star on the field.  Savanna has great ball control and once she decides to be more aggressive, there won't be any stopping her!  We love soccer because it is great exercise, they get to spend time with their dad coach, and they both keep saying it's their favorite extra sport activity.

art portfolio

Heidi brought home her art portfolio last week.  Her art teacher is amazing and it is he favorite special class.  She is a good little artist and we were all excited to see her work.  Her teacher sent home a paper with sample questions we could answer about her work and she was so excited.  She had us all sit and ask questions.  Caimbree and Savanna were pretty good sports about it, but Heidi made sure to keep them in line by reminding them to sit criss cross applesauce and that questions are "who, what, when, where, how, why".  She's such a little teacher haha.  I can't wait to hang up some of her amazing artwork!

caimbree

I cannot believe Caimbree is almost four.  This little thing is so loved.  She is so incredibly sweet and loving and oh my goodness does she love to laugh and make others laugh.  She is a special little girl and we cannot imagine our lives without her!

ward picnic

We have such a great ward and we had a really fun ward picnic last week complete with bounce houses, face painting, and a delicious barbecue!  We are grateful for our ward family and are especially grateful for all of the love our girls get from everyone they attend church with!
