the carter house

This morning we went for a run at the lake and then we came home to do a few things around the house, eat lunch, listen to the first session of conference, and take naps.  After the girls woke up we decided to go into Franklin to check out the Carter House.  It was really cool!  This is another historical site from the Battle of Franklin.

This home has bullet holes in all of buildings.  The family who lived in the home had a lot of small children.  They went into the basement to hide and heard the fighting around and inside their home.  We were able to go into the basement where the family hid.  It was very interesting and we learned a lot!  We love all of the historical sites and were excited to see a new one today.
