hermitage

We took the girls to Andrew Jackson's house in Nashville today (The Hermitage).  We loved it and learned so much on our trip a few years ago so we were excited to go again.
The girls seemed to like it especially since they got their own listening device and got to punch in numbers at each learning station.  Love Savanna's curly little hair.
Caimbree did well, but it was pretty hot today.  We didn't stay as long as we normally would have because we were all roasting.  The inside of the mansion is so fascinating.  They don't allow pictures inside.  Heidi especially thought it was cool and was interested in a lot of facts she learned.
Savanna carried her little listening thing the whole time...sometimes in her hand, sometimes around her next, and sometimes with the string in her mouth.  What a funny little personality she has.
Heidi at one of the slave huts.  It was the first time we have ever really talked about slavery and it was kind of difficult to explain!  I'm not sure Heidi really understand what slaves were or why there was slavery, but she thought the huts were kind of cool.  We went to lunch and cooled off an then headed home for naps.  Have I mentioned how much we love Nashville?  Well, it is a pretty awesome city and we feel blessed to live so close.
