celebrating savanna

Savanna's birthday fell on a Wednesday this year.  She was excited to go to school and see her friends for her birthday.  She came home with a birthday crown and book.  She said it was the best day.  Savanna was so sweet and was happy to let us take family pictures on her birthday (it was the only day that could possibly work and since we were planning a party Friday to celebrate, it wasn't that big of deal).  Anyway, after family pictures, we let her open a card that came in the mail from Sharon that a $1 in it, her birthday dress from grandma Hunziker, a Silly Sally book from grandma McLean, and the umbrella she had been begging for.

Savanna is such a funny, free spirited girl.
She doesn't care what everyone else is doing, she just marches to the beat of her own drum and we absolutely LOVE that about her.  She decided this year she wanted a spider Halloween cake.  Since her birthday is so close to Halloween, it worked out. This cake was so easy to make, it looked great, and it tasted delicious!

Savanna got to have a party this year.  We had over 30 people over for pizza and cake.  There were so many more people we would loved to invite, but we had to limit it a little.  We have made so many amazing friends and I am so grateful for great people and influences helping us raise these girls since we are far away from both of our parents.

Savanna was excited about the rest of her presents and cannot wait to play with them tomorrow morning.  We had such a great time celebrating Savanna.  She really has blossomed this year.  It is so fun to watch her so excited to interact with other people.  I'm so happy she was so happy with her party!  It was a fun, fun evening!
