celebrating savanna
I am really having a hard time wrapping my mind around Savanna being 5 already. Savanna is such a treasure and I am so glad she is in our family! We celebrated her day with the requested pumpkin bread and candles for her breakfast. All day she was wanting to do her cake and presents so having to wait for dad was not her favorite thing!
We went to lunch with some friends, picked up Heidi and then Jeff got home! Savanna was so excited for her cake. She had requested another Halloween themed cake. She wanted another kit kat cake but this time she requested snakes. I couldn't find snakes, but she was more than happy with gummy worms. The big thing she wanted was surprise m&ms in the middle. I wasn't sure how to make it work, but her eyes would twinkle every time she told me about the idea so I decided I better figure it out. It wasn't a party year for her, but we invited our friends Karen and Dave who are always there for our girls when we need help, over for cake. She got to eat her cake and open presents.
Heidi was so concerned about what she was going to get Savanna for her birthday. She made her a little story with a page inside that said, "I love how you are so, so, so, so happy all of the time." She used her gift card to Claires she had gotten for her birthday to buy a best friends necklace for her and Savanna. It was the sweetest idea and Savanna loved it. The next day after her birthday she was sad and she went into her room and grabbed her necklace and was holding it. She said she wanted Heidi to come home. They really do have such a sweet little relationship, even if they don't get along all of the time!
She was also excited about roller skates and a new dress from grandma H. Karen and Dave brought her a little hair set with a blow dryer and curling iron and she has been playing with that constantly. She also got a diaper bag and a doll that she has been taking with her everywhere.
Happy birthday, Savanna!!!! We had
a blast celebrating YOU!
