celebrating savanna

I am really having a hard time wrapping my mind around Savanna being 5 already.  Savanna is such a treasure and I am so glad she is in our family!  We celebrated her day with the requested pumpkin bread and candles for her breakfast.  All day she was wanting to do her cake and presents so having to wait for dad was not her favorite thing!

We went to lunch with some friends, picked up Heidi and then Jeff got home!  Savanna was so excited for her cake.  She had requested another Halloween themed cake.  She wanted another kit kat cake but this time she requested snakes.  I couldn't find snakes, but she was more than happy with gummy worms.  The big thing she wanted was surprise m&ms in the middle.  I wasn't sure how to make it work, but her eyes would twinkle every time she told me about the idea so I decided I better figure it out.  It wasn't a party year for her, but we invited our friends Karen and Dave who are always there for our girls when we need help, over for cake.  She got to eat her cake and open presents.

Heidi was so concerned about what she was going to get Savanna for her birthday.  She made her a little story with a page inside that said, "I love how you are so, so, so, so happy all of the time."  She used her gift card to Claires she had gotten for her birthday to buy a best friends necklace for her and Savanna. It was the sweetest idea and Savanna loved it.  The next day after her birthday she was sad and she went into her room and grabbed her necklace and was holding it.  She said she wanted Heidi to come home.  They really do have such a sweet little relationship, even if they don't get along all of the time!

She was also excited about roller skates and a new dress from grandma H.  Karen and Dave brought her a little hair set with a blow dryer and curling iron and she has been playing with that constantly.  She also got a diaper bag and a doll that she has been taking with her everywhere.

Happy birthday, Savanna!!!!  We had
a blast celebrating YOU!

trick or treating

On Saturday night we had a trunk or treat at the church.  It was a lot of fun and the girls all dressed in their "Three little kittens" costumes.  It was very cute.

On Halloween night we went trick or treating to a few houses around town.  Caimbree decided to be Snow White for that night.  It was funny that she kept changing her mind about what she wanted to be.  My brother's wife sent her the Snow White costume and she has worn it every since it came in the mail!  She loves to dress like a princess.

We had a terrific Halloween and we are all tired and trying to catch up from all of the parties and festivities!

dance costume week

The girls love costume week at dance.  They get to dress up and they get to perform the Halloween songs they have been working on for the parents.  They get to dance in a black light with glow necklaces and they pass treats out to their friends.  It is a really fun day and Caimbree was excited to finally be part of the fun!

She decided to be Belle for her costume day and Heidi and Savanna stuck with the cat costumes they had planned out.  All three of them had a blast and it was fun to watch them dance with their friends and class!

carving pumpkins

For family night we carved our pumpkins!  The girls drew or described the face we wanted and then we carved them out and lit them up!  The girls were very pleased with their work.  It's one of my favorite family nights!

the sweetest note

On the first day back after fall break, Heidi asked me if she could use one of my post-it notes.  I had no idea what she was working on while I busily made breakfast.  She asked me for Savanna's lunch box and I saw her sneak this note in the lunchbox.  My heart melted.  These two don't always get along.  They go through phases where they are best friends and then they have days they disagree over everything.  The good news is, I know without a doubt that these sweet girls of mine love each other a whole lot.  All three of them have the absolute sweetest, most tender hearts and I love them and their good hearts so, so much.

pumpkin patch fun

Oh how I love fall.  I especially have loved fall here.  Stunningly beautiful and still warm enough to enjoy lots and lots of time outdoors.

We have a pumpkin patch ten minutes from our home that we have fallen in love with.  It is so fun and the girls could spend hours there.  Our highlights this year including the jump pad, getting buried in corn, and watching all three girls ride the zip line time after time after time!

Heidi has a field trip there next week and she cannot wait to go back!
