visit with santa
We went to see Santa after school on Friday. I thought maybe this would be the year I might get a picture with all of them with Santa, but I knew that probably wouldn't happen. Heidi of course was more than fine with it and couldn't wait. Caimbree wanted to see him, but she also said she was nervous and doesn't like when people look at or talk to her. Savanna said she wanted nothing to do with Santa. Sigh. Either way, the girls saw Santa and at least one of the three had a really terrific time. Maybe next year hahaha.
gingerbread houses
For family night we spent a lot of time talking about Jesus' birth and life and then we made our gingerbread house. For whatever reason, the girls weren't super into it this year and we trying to hurry. Heidi wanted it to look absolutely perfect and was frustrated when it didn't. They were all so grumpy it was kind of comical. Savanna was actually in pretty good spirits and excited and Caimbree just wanted to play with the fondant. At one point I heard Heidi say, "This just looks stupid." And then they all started saying it. And then we all just started laughing. You win some, you lose some hahaha.
heidi's last week of school
It's no secret Heidi loves school. I mean, loves school. She has not been thrilled about the idea that she won't be there for a few weeks. I, on the other hand, cannot be more thrilled to have her home for a little while! Having her gone has never really gotten easier for me and I love when she has breaks. She had a fun last week and I got to go help out a little bit, which is always a treat. She made gingerbread houses and had a pajama and Polar Express Day, she learned about Christmas around the world, had a Grinch day, a Rudolph day, and a little class party. It was a busy and full week! I love her teacher, I love all of the friends she has made, I love her school, I love how much she loves to learn and I am so grateful for everyone who loves and cares and teaches my baby each day!
pre-k program
Savanna had her last day of pre-k before Christmas break and a cute little program. She did such an awesome job! She loves school...well, if you ask her, she will tell you she loves recess and that's all, but I think she likes it more than she admits and she is learning a lot and comes home happy. Caimbree, as usual, was a little trooper. We went to the party beforehand and then while we were waiting for the program, I looked over and she was lying on the pew blowing raspberries quietly. It made me laugh. She is so good about just going with the flow.
Savanna's favorite song was, "The lights on the tree go blink blink blink all Christmas Day." She has been singing it for weeks and I loved watching her perform. Her favorite part of the song was when it said, "The dad in the house goes snore snore snore all Christmas day." She gets the biggest kick out of the most simple things. I love her so.

movie time
Heidi and I read the book "Wonder" together and I wanted to take her to see the movie when it came out. None of the girls have ever been to a movie so it was really fun to take them for the first time! Jeff even let them get popcorn. They thought it was so much fun!
jingle bell 5k
We signed up to do a 5k at the beginning of the month. Sadly we had a cold snap that weekend and it was so, so cold! It was so cold that our three girls were the only kids who showed up to do the fun run!
Due to the weather, the childcare I thought I had worked out, fell through so that meant that all 3 girls would be doing the race with me. I was going to switch and do the mile and Jeff was doing the 5k. When we got to the 1/2 mile mark to turn around, Heidi wanted to keep going so we ended up doing the whole 5k! Savanna and Caimbree were in the stroller and Heidi was a serious champ and walked and ran by my side! It was a super hard, super steep course and our stroller has seen better days, but we did it! We were frozen solid but honestly, I was so proud of my girls. They didn't complain once! I love them all sooo much and I'm glad I got to experience the race with them!

heidi's first grade picture
We finally for Heidi's school pictures back! Love this picture and love this sweet, smart, responsible, loving girl. I can't believe how fast she is growing up.
around the house
I love the little reminders around our house that we have three beautiful little girls around. We had an elf come this year again and it has been so fun each morning watch the girls find him. Savanna in particular always has Mistletoe on her mind and loves to find him. She has a hard time keeping his location secret while her sisters look for him!
Recently, Heidi has become really interested in football. I think it's mostly because she loves having something to share with her dad. She drew this picture and I thought it was the cutest thing. She loves the Titans, but she roots for the Redskins with her dad when they play. She and Jeff have nicknames for the teams they don't like. It's fun to hear them talk about football together.
During the month of November we made our thankful tree and wrote blessings we were thankful for throughout the month. When I was taking down the leaves to put up Christmas, I found this one from Heidi and it made me giggle.
Heidi is having the best year at school and we just love her teacher! She came home with this darling gift and I can't wait to display it each year and watch how much she grows.
Savanna has recently been leaving us notes on our pillows and around the house. I get so happy when I see one of her little notes!

christmas in downtown dickson
I can't say enough good things about our town. We seriously love it so, so much. It is the perfect size...not too small, not too big, close to the city and we have made the greatest friends! One of our very favorite Christmas traditions is heading downtown for free carriage rides, train rides, a live nativity, and meandering through the fun shops. It is also a blast because you run into so many people you know and now that the girls have lots of friends from school, they love getting out and hoping for a chance to bump into their buddies. It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!

dancing in downtown dickson
This year the girls got to do a little dance performance during the Christmas in downtown Dickson. We were all so excited to see them perform. It was Caimbree's first time to perform. I wasn't sure what to expect, but she did amazing!! She was absolutely adorable. Heidi and Savanna also got to dance and they did awesome! They are getting so good and we love watching them perform. It was such a fun night!
baking cookies, decorating, and playing with dad
The other day I was making cookies for a relief society activity. I put the dough in the fridge and left the room for a minute. When I came back, I saw that Caimbree had helped herself to the beater! It made me laugh so hard. Girlfriend loves her sweets!
We finished decorating for Christmas and we all love how festive the house looks.
When Jeff comes home, he is so good about giving the girls lots of dad attention and the girls absolutely live the minute he walks through the door. I love watching them play together...it's always entertaining...even if someone generally ends up hurt haha. Great dads are the best!

christmas season has begun
The day after Thanksgiving we got the house ready for Christmas! One of my very favorite days! The girls made the tree look great and the rest of the house looks festive as well! I love seeing lights all over the house. We cannot wait to start all of our Christmas activities!
thanksgiving 2017
This Thanksgiving we were going to Detroit to spend the holiday with two of my brothers and my parents. We were all so excited. Unfortunately when we were about 3 hours from Detroit, my brother called to tell me they had the stomach flu. We had a bunch of Christmas presents in the back of the car that could not be shipped. We didn't want to bring the girls home throwing up in the car so we decided to stop and see Michael and drop off the gifts and then head home. It was a crazy, unplanned adventure, but sometimes life doesn't go as planned!! We made the most of it and the girls were troopers!
The girls were excited that we would be home for Thanksgiving afterall because one of our very favorite things is the Give 'n Gobble 5k! Even though we got home at 2:30 am, the girls were up ready to chase a turkey at 7! We hurried and got ready and headed to downtown! Love, love, love our town! We quickly signed all 3 up to chase the turkey and Heidi wanted to run the mile. Heidi helped Savanna and Caimbree chase the turkey when it was there turn because they were nervous to do it alone. Have I mentioned that she is the best big sister ever?? She ran the mile in just over 10 minutes! She was the first in her age group and we were so proud of her!
After the race we went to Kroger and grabbed everything we would need to make a Thanksgiving feast. It turned out great and we had a wonderful and relaxing day....even if it wasn't the one we had planned!
