kansas city-liberty jail

We stopped at Liberty Jail while we were in Kansas City.  I was a little nervous about the girls enjoying it, but they actually loved it!  Heidi did not want to leave.  It was extremely interesting and I am glad we stopped.  I don't think I have ever been there.  The funniest part was when Savanna started saying, "HOLY GHOST!  HOLY GHOST!"  Heidi looked right at her and said, "Do you feel the Holy Ghost, sweetheart?"  It was so cute.  We had a nice time and I am glad we stopped by.

kansas city-lego land

Thursday night we made it to Kansas City and were lucky enough to find another bunk bed hotel!  Friday morning we took the girls to Lego Land.  It was fun, but to be honest, it was way over priced for what it was (thank heavens Heidi was the only one we had to pay for besides ourselves).  Also, it was crowded and I felt a little too geared towards boys.  But, the girls had a good time and thought all the things made from Legos were pretty impressive.  Savanna mostly loved the people...that's what she always plays with in the Lego sets too.  They had a little ride in there and that was Heidi's favorite part.  She could have ridden it all day!

omaha

We got to Omaha Wednesday evening.  We were lucky enough to find another bunk bed hotel so the girls got a good night of sleep.

We headed to the Omaha Zoo in the morning.  The girls were so excited!
We had heard such great things about the zoo, and it did not disappoint!  It was huge and there were so many animals!  Every time I would take a picture the girls would try to act like whatever animal was behind them.  Made me laugh.  The giraffes were Heidi's favorite--she is obsessed with them!
When we first got to the zoo there were about 12 school buses pulling in.  It was so crowded!!  We avoided the enclosed spaces.  The girls started getting tired and crabby so we went to lunch and almost didn't go back because the two little girls fell asleep in the van.  We went back anyway and we are so glad we did!  The schools were leaving and we felt like we had the zoo to ourselves!  The girls were so glad we went back and we saw so many more things.
Both girls wanted to pose with all of the animal statues.  They were quite the hit.

Caimbree was her typical angelic self!  Love this little baby of mine.  She really enjoyed all of the animals and would kick her legs excitedly when she saw them move.

It was such a fun day!  Our girls are at great ages for the zoo and it was so fun for Jeff and I to watch their excitement and amazement.

hitting the road

On Tuesday the movers came and loaded everything up.  We spent the day cleaning, I went to my last night of Bunco, and then we hit the road. Jeff came to pick me up from Bunco and I bawled. Driving away from the house for the last time was not easy.  I still try not to picture my house.  It's still too fresh and I feel lost and alone and thinking of my comfortable place makes me hurt more.

We thought the girls would just sleep and we would try to get through a lot of Nebraska.  They didn't sleep.  Not one of them for more than about an hour at time.  So we decided to just call it quits and spent the night in Cheyenne.  The first two hotels we tried were booked.  We got a little nervous but finally found a Days Inn that had a room.
The room had bunk beds!  Bunk beds!  Oh my heavens.  My girls were so excited!  I had never heard of such a thing but after having them once, it turned into a necessity and we had to find hotels everywhere we went.  We lucked out the first 3 nights and then they had to share a bed the next few.

We made lots of stops to stretch our legs along the way. We stopped at a little museum somewhere in Nebraska and they played on this little climbing thing at a little school we passed on a walk we took.  Overall, the girls really were good travelers!  We were happy to make it through Nebraska by the end of Wednesday.

saying goodbye

The moving truck came Monday morning.  They came and packed us up and the girls and I went and said goodbye to a few of our friends.  It was a very emotional day to say the least.  When we built that house, I would have never in a million years ever, ever thought we would leave.  I thought Jeff would retire there.  I thought our girls would be coming home from college for Thanksgiving there.  We made so many wonderful friends and had such an amazing support system.  We loved our home.  We loved our ward.  We love our memories there.  The emotions of leaving are still very raw for me.  I still wonder if we made the right choice.
Heidi had her last day of dance and dance pictures that day as well.  Oh my goodness.  So hard.  Heidi's dance teacher was an absolute blessing. Heidi idolized her and learned so much.  She could not have had a better experience and I am still teary eyed thinking about her missing her last performance.  I hope I can find her a dance class she will enjoy as much as this one.

All I can say is...change is hard.  No matter what the change is and this change is kind of huge.  I never thought I would ever feel like Wyoming was home, but it was and the people we met there changed our lives for the better.  A piece of our hearts will always be in Wyoming--especially Lyman.  We sure loved that town and all the people we met there.  I hate goodbyes.

catching up

We are all moved into our house and settled and I have internet now and I have so, so, so much to catch up on!  So I may be posting two or three times a day in hopes of catching up so I don't get even more behind.
Jeff headed to Tennessee a week before us because he had to start work.  We went to pick him up from the airport and stopped to stay the night with grandma so the girls could spend one last night with her.
Grandma spoiled them and took them to Build-A-Bear so they would have a special little friend to remind them of her.  They had so much fun!!  It was so fun to watch them choose a new friend.  Savanna loved giving hers a bath and Heidi loved choosing Elsa clothes for hers!  Savanna named her bear Princess Bob (of course) and Heidi named hers Heart.  They love their bears so much and they were a life saver on the long drive!
We are so very sad our girls won't be as close to grandma and grandpa H!  They have such a great relationship with them and we have been so spoiled to live so close for so long.  The girls were and are so sad to not be near grandma!  We couldn't ask for better grandparents and hope we can at least them from time to time now that we are so far away.  My girls are so lucky to have such wonderful, loving, involved grandparents!  We love you and miss you grandpa and grandma!

10 months

My baby girl is now 10 months old.  She can go ahead and just freeze right here for awhile.  We are so in love with our little Caimbree girl.  She is such a delight in every way and we cannot imagine a life without her and her sweet little personality.

*I am convinced she carries half of her weight in her cheeks.
*Her eyes are as bright and blue as can be.
*I have never had a more easy going baby.  Seriously.  She's amazing and with everything going on right now, I could not be more grateful.

*Caimbree is SO interactive!!  We LOVE it!  She loves playing with her sisters and feeling like she's part of the action.
*Will sit on the floor and cover her eyes to play peek a boo.
*Loves attention.
*If she thinks she does something funny, she will start laughing and try to show you how funny she is.
*Holds phones up to her ear.
*Rarely has a bad day.
*Has her 2 bottom teeth, one fang completely in and the other just popped through.
*Eats just about everything now and enjoys eating whatever is on our plate.
*Whenever a grandpa is holding her, she is in heaven.
*Starting to crawl all over the place.
*Stands herself up onto just about everything.
*Big time cuddle bug.
*So observant and is always checking out new surroundings.
*Naps at 9 and 12:30 and sleeps from about 7-6 but she has been waking up at 4am a couple times a week.
*Wakes up super happy.
*Ticklish and loves to be tickled.
*Likes her bath.

Honestly, she is just a super fun baby and we love her so, so, so, so much!

Thanks for coming to our family Caimbree Rae!  We love watching you learn and grow...even though it is happening way too fast!
