coaching soccer and bike riding

Jeff hasn't been able to make all of the games and practices this season and since no one else will volunteer, it falls to me.  Totally not something I am super comfortable with, but it was good for me to stretch myself and try something new.  Heidi's team is pretty fun to coach and she has become such a great little player.  Savanna's team is still trying to figure out why the are on the field.  I had a huge headache by the time her game was over Saturday, but we made it through both games.  Caimbree was a champ and just watched quietly from the bench for both games.  She will get her turn to play probably in the fall.

We have also been working on bikes. Heidi moved to a bigger pedal bike, Savanna moved up to a pedal bike, and Caimbree is on the balance bike.  I was teaching Savanna and then I saw these notes Heidi wrote on this whiteboard in the garage.  It made me giggle that she was giving me praise for teaching Savanna how to pedal.  So cute.

flowers in pre-k

Savanna loves school and she loves her friends.  He best friends this year have been Riley (who was in her class last year) and Hannah.  We hear all about the fun they have together.  For Earth Day, Savanna's class planted flowers.  It was a fun activity and Savanna loved it. Anything hands on or active is the perfect activity for our Savanna girl!

more adventures at the lake

We have had a strange spring with ups and downs in temperatures, but we made sure to enjoy the warmer days and of course hit the lake as much as could.  We love spring when the baby ducks start appearing and the girls love to count all of the turtles.  We can't get enough of Luther Lake!

railroad museum

We have a really cool railroad museum in our town, and we have never been to it!  Today was rainy and soccer games were cancelled, so we decided to check it out! It was so cool and such a cool historic site to have right here in town.  It used to be a hotel and they have very cool artifacts and information about the town, the civil war, and the railroad.  They had a little play room and of course Heidi went straight for the books. We had a great morning and learned a ton!

nice morning at the lake

Whenever it is nice morning, Savanna asks to go to the lake after we drop Heidi off at school.  She loves to ride her bike around, Caimbree loves to run, and they love to pick and blow all of the dandelions (wish berries as they say).  I registered Savanna for kindergarten this week and I keep thinking about how I won't have her around at the lake in the mornings and it makes me really sad.  She is just always so cheerful and excited about spending time outside.  Her happy little spirit is contagious and Caimbree and I will definitely have a hard time when she is gone for so long next year.

warm day=chalk all day

Our weather this spring has been nutty.  Warm one day, raining A LOT, and cold snaps coming when you think spring has arrived.  We had a warm, non rainy day last week so we went outside and spent most of the day riding bikes and creating art with sidewalk chalk!  Savanna and Caimbree love it when I trace their body and then they age clothes and hair and faces.  We had such a fun day together!  Warmer weather please come and stay...just don't get too hot too fast!  I'm ready for spring temperatures!

more easter fun

Our ward had a primary Easter activity after Easter this year. Due to rain and unseasonably cold temperatures the girl's soccer games were cancelled and they were able to attend the party.  It is always so fun for them to spend time with their friends and they had a blast.  We went to lunch afterwards with our friends and the girls were so happy because they got to spend so much time with their friends that day.  It was a really fun day and we are grateful for our great ward and all of the amazing friendships we have made here so far!
