working on the table
Jeff has been working hard on the table and has the top about ready to stain. He finished the bottom, so the girls and I painted it before we left on our trip. Savanna and Caimbree wanted to help, but I knew having them help really meant more work. I tried to keep them busy playing, but that didn't last long. Then I told them if they were going to paint, they would need to put on painting clothes. I was hoping this would encourage them to just play. Instead, they helped each other strip down. How could I say no when they came begging for a brush dressed in their undies? No shame haha.
painting pumpkins
Before we left for our fall break trip we did a "family home morning". The girls thought that was pretty cool. They got to paint the small pumpkins they picked at the pumpkin patch.
They were all 3 pretty into it and had a great time. Holiday activities are the best!

fall is for the pumpkin patch
One of my favorite fall activities is going to the pumpkin patch! We have at least 3 in our county and we plan on trying them all out before fall is over! Today we tried one called Harmony Farms. The girls had so much fun! They especially loved the big slide.
They tried out all of the activities and games, we went on a hay ride, and we went through the corn maze. It was smiles all around!
We also let the girls pick out their small pumpkins for our upcoming annual paint your mini pumpkin family night. They are so excited they can hardly wait two more days to get started. I love how fun everything is at these sweet ages. Happy fall, y'all! Best.season.ever.

hiking with friends
This morning we went for a hike with some friends at Montgomery Bell State park. We went with my friend Liz from church and her three kids and also another friend I met through Savanna's dance class and her little girl. It was fun and the kids were good little hikers! Heidi especially surprised me and pretty much ran the entire way with her friend Hunter. After the hike we played on the playground for awhile. Living in the same town as the state park is so fun and we take advantage of it as much as we can!
fall break play date
Heidi has made a lot of friends through the schools she has been at and all of her other activities. I have been able to make a lot of friends with her friend's moms too! It's been great!! She met sweet Jacklyn at school this year. They aren't in the same class, but thankfully, good kids from great families seem to gravitate towards Heidi. Her mom invited us over for a play date over fall break and we all had a blast!
They picked up little mini pizzas for everyone to make and boy oh boy did the girls have fun! It was so sweet for them to invite and include all of my girls. The girls had a blast playing together and I had a great time chatting with my new friend! She is a former teacher as well so it has been an instant connection! We look forward to spending more time with Jacklyn and her cute family in the future! Have I mentioned yet how much we love, love, love the people where we live? ;)

zoo adventures
Today was a great day for the zoo. The weather has been delightful and because we have a membership, it's a great activity to do when the girls need a break from the house. I never get sick of seeing their excitement over the animals.
They were so cute and Savanna wanted to pose every time she saw a place that she thought would be good for a photo. We hit all of their favorite things...giraffes, kangaroos, turtles, and wobbly bridge and then raced home so Jeff could make it to the priesthood session. It has been a a great weekend!
saturday morning
It is fall break!! This is a very happy time for our family because we get not one, but two full weeks with our Heidi girl home! To celebrate we rented a Red Box movie last night. We have never rented one and the girls were so excited about the whole process. It has been a little chilly so we had a little fire going and they were in heaven. We didn't watch much of the movie because it was already bedtime when we got home, but this morning they got dressed and ready for Heidi's soccer game and then I put the movie on for them to finish. I went to get ready and when I came out of my room I saw all three of them snuggled together. Melts my heart. They may not get along perfectly all of the time, but they really do love each other and it is the best thing ever.
