mash

Heidi has been spending a lot of her spring break reading books.  One of the books she was reading had some friends playing a game of MASH.  She asked me what they was so I was trying to explain it.  It made more sense to just show her since she wasn't getting what I was saying.  Well, once I showed her, she couldn't be stopped and she played it on her own and with Jeff and with her sisters the rest of the night.  It was pretty funny.  She kept saying, "Why is this game so fun?!  I can't stop playing!"  It made us laugh.  So now the MASH playing has begun, and I have a feeling she will be playing for years to come haha.

four wheeling

We have had so much rain in the last year.  I mean, ridiculous amounts of rain. Spring break's forecast was rain every single day.  We decided not to cancel our four wheeling trip and we lucked out because while it had been raining a few days in a row leading up to the trip, it didn't rain the day we were actually four wheeling.  There was plenty of mud though and the girls had a blast getting very muddy!  Savanna was so funny because we looked back and her whole hand was covered in mud.  She said she put it out whenever we went through a puddle because she wanted to see what it felt like.  She is such an adventurous little thing and we all gt the biggest kick out of her. We had a great time enjoying the four wheeling trails, but I think the girls were even more excited to spend the night in a hotel haha.  The girls couldn't wait to have breakfast at the hotel, which is pretty funny because they usually don't find anything they want to eat other than apple juice.  There was a nice lady that worked there that talked to them about Easter and the Easter bunny and gave them a container of chocolate marshmallow bunnies.  We wish Jeff had more vacation time but we enjoyed the short time we had together and made lots of fun memories!

free ice cream

Dairy Queen had a free ice cream day to welcome in spring so we met some friends and had ice cream!  It was a fun afternoon and treat!

spring break

Heidi had a fun last day of school before spring break.  They had a special visitor and a longer recess and I got a few pictures to have a peek of what was happening for her that day.  She has had such a great year and I can't believe that when she goes back to school she only has 7 weeks left before the year ends.  We will miss her teacher and this wonderful year so much!

around the house

The girls are pretty excited about Easter.  The other day they decided to play a game where they painted signs about an Easter egg hunt and then they set up a hunt for all of their little Lego girls to go on.  It was a cute game and they had a blast together.  I love when they all three get involved in an activity together.  The way they were playing reminded me of summer when they come up with elaborate games and play for days on end.

community egg hunt

Our town had a fun Easter egg hunt that we decided to try out.  Savanna was actually excited to see the Easter bunny and wouldn't stop hugging him.  That made us laugh because, well, we all know her feelings about seeing Santa.  Maybe this Christmas she will actually be excited to see him.  The hunt was really fun and they had lots of eggs!  Savanna had her basket filled to overflowing.  Heidi's age group had quite a few more kids to compete with so at first she was feeling sad she didn't quite as many eggs, but Savanna started putting eggs in her basket as soon as she realized she didn't have as many.  I absolutely adore Savanna's tender little heart.  It was a fun morning and we were glad the rain stopped that morning so they could do the hunt!

more black eye

Poor little Caimbree's eye is taking a long time to heal, as we knew it would.  It went from being almost completely swollen shut and bruised, to just being a deep purple almost down her whole cheek and her eye lid.  She has been such a good sport about it and says that she likes the color purple so it's okay.  Right now she has one spot left that is a deep purple so hopefully within another week so will be back to normal.  I'm sad it happened, but I keep thinking that I'm glad she didn't hit her mouth instead and lose all of her teeth!  Poor girl always seems to be the one getting bumped into!

caimbree's black eye

Oh my poor sweet little Caimbree.  We went to a missionary reunion for someone in our ward Saturday afternoon and they had some fun bounce houses and slides set up.  The girls had so much fun.  At one point Heidi was climbing up a slide and Caimbree was sliding down and they somehow collided.  It was so sad.  It looks a million times worse today.  Her eye is almost swollen shut and it is black and blue from her lower eye lid down past her nose.  She is being a good sport about it, but we all feel sad when we look at her.  Hopefully the swelling and bruising doesn't last more than a few weeks.

fort donelson

One of the civil war sites we hadn't checked out yet was Fort Donelson.  So since Saturday was nice and soccer hadn't started yet, we loaded up and went to check it out!  I'm glad we did because it was very cool and the girls loved it!  We learned a lot and it was yet another site where I was amazed at the sacrifices that were made by all of the soldiers who fought in the war.  I cannot imagine how difficult their lives were and the conditions they suffered.  I'm so glad the girls are learning history and are able to see so many of these historical sites in person.

spring snowstorm

We went from a warm, beautiful weekend to snow on Monday morning!  The girls had a late start for school which was awesome because we got to spend the morning outside.  Heidi is my little snow queen and was so happy and cheerful the whole morning pretending her sled was a bobsled.  It was a fun morning and since the snow was gone by 11 AM, I could tolerate the storm haha.

spring fever

For the last two or three weeks we have some really wonderful spring days.  It was a cold and wet winter and even when we have had warmer days, it seems to be raining.  But thankfully we have had dry days and on those warm, dry days we are outside almost the entire day.  One Saturday I was watching a couple of kids from church and Jeff pulled the four wheelers out.  The kids had a blast with that!

Savanna and Caimbree especially love to be outside so we walk around the lake, the neighborhood, go to the park, play with sidewalk chalk, and jump on the trampoline.  It is so nice to get fresh air!  I can't wait until the temperatures are steady enough to plant flowers and I don't think it is too far away!

making oobleck

Since Heidi had to miss all of her fun Dr. Seuss activities, Savanna thought it would be fun to make the "oobleck" she had made at school and I thought that was an excellent idea.  It did help Heidi cheer up for a little while and all three of them had fun.  The funniest part was that I let them each pick what color they wanted and Savanna pretty much dumped an entire bottle of food coloring in hers.  Her hands looked like green gloves the entire day.  We were all just laughing and laughing every time we saw her.  She thought it was pretty much the greatest thing that ever happened to her.  It mostly came off after a good soak in the tub that night but Friday morning when we took Heidi to the doctor she said, "Good thing the green is gone because Dr. Kelley would think something really wrong was happening to my body."  We laughed at laughed.  She is one hysterical little girl!
