narrows of the harpeth
We spent Saturday morning hiking the Narrows of the Harpeth trail. It was really cool! Savanna ended up getting a tick on her leg, but we got it out before it was in for too long. Everyone was a little freaked out, but it is sadly very common to see them around here. We are lucky it is the first the girls have had considering all of our hiking adventures. There were two trails that split from each other and we hiked both. I hope the girls will have really happy memories of the time we spend together hiking. There are so many beautiful places around here and we can't help feeling so grateful we get to explore so many cool places together.
swimmers
The girls are finally starting to realize that swimming is the best way to spend summer days! In the last week, Heidi has been so motivated to get her puddle jumper off and really start swimming. We are so incredibly proud of her and she is making a lot of progress. Savanna and Caimbree absolutely love swimming all over while playing little games. Our sweet neighbors had us clean their pool while they were gone and said we could use the pool, so of course we got in the pool each night they were gone. It was so good for the girls.
Truthfully, this summer has really been mild so far. There has hardly been any humidity and the temperatures have been a good 10 degrees lower than at this time last year. For that, we are so grateful. We have been able to spend so much time outside and swimming is becoming one of our favorite activities.

holiday world
On Tuesday we headed to Santa Claus, Indiana to go to Holiday World. We met our good friends there like we did last year and oh my goodness. We had the best time. We love the water park part of the park as well as the amusement park section. It really is a fun place and going with friends makes a fun place even better. Heidi was tall enough to do a lot more rides this year, especially in the water park area and I was shocked at how much more brave she was this year! I was so proud of her for trying and enjoying more of the wild rides this year. It's fun to see her loosen up a little and enjoy herself. It was such a fun day and we headed home exhausted, but very happy. We really had the most incredible weekend making memories together.
aunt julie and uncle bob
AFter we swam at the hotel, we met Jeff's Aunt Julie and Uncle Bob for dinner. We were so excited to see them! The girls love how Aunt Julie reminds them of Grandma Peggy. We really had such a fun time in Louisville and hope to go again!
louisville slugger museum
Monday afternoon we went to the Louisville Slugger Museum and we loved it! We learned how they make bats and other interesting baseball facts. It got the girls interested in baseball. At the end of the tour they got to bring home their own 7 inch bat and they were thrilled about that! They had a cool Lego room and the girls had fun building for a little while. After the museum we went back to the hotel to swim for awhile. Such an awesome afternoon!
falls of the ohio state park
After we left my brother's house Sunday, we headed up for a long weekend in Louisville. We had the best time! We stayed in a hotel, which of course the girls were thrilled about. Monday morning we headed to Falls of the Ohio State park. It was so much fun and the weather was amazing. We got to hunt for fossils and I couldn't believe how into it the girls were! Heidi was drawing the fossils that she found on the hotel notepad and they loved talking about what they thought the fossils were. The funniest was when Jeff found a round smooth rock and told them he found a dinosaur egg fossil. They all believed him and wanted to take it home. We also got to see George Rogers Clark's home that is built right in that area. Overall it was an absolutely perfect morning. We had the best time together.

caimbree at three
Caimbree is such a dream! We love this girl so much! She is quiet and shy and most people never get to hear her funny little voice or hear all the hilarious things on her mind, but that's part of what makes her so special! Three came so incredibly fast. Slow down, baby girl.
*We call her Caimb, Rae Rae, and Caimey girl
*Caimbree is hands down more of a daddy's girl than the other two. She has no problem with Jeff taking care of whatever her needs are and sometimes prefers daddy. She gets so excited when he gets home and runs into his arms the second she sees him. She likes to spend time with just her dad and is often following him around helping him with whatever he is doing. It is safe to say that she has Jeff completely wrapped around her finger and he has found in almost impossible to tell her no or even discipline her!
*Caimbree is so observant. She takes everything in and will tell us every single that happened wherever we go.
*Most people comment on her big, bright blue eyes.
*Caimbree is often fought over by Savanna and Caimbree. They both love her so much and often fight over who gets to hug her, who gets to play with her, who she sits by, etc.
*Caimbree plays really well with both Savanna and Heidi but she is often found playing little games with Savanna upstairs. They giggle and laugh and get along so well. Caimbree is really lonely when Heidi and Savanna are at school.
*She loves to read. She is often found with a stack of books and reads to herself and of course she loves to be read to.
*Caimbree is so easy going. She doesn't let anything get to her and she tries to please everyone. She doesn't like to see anyone sad.
*She is so incredibly sensitive. If she even thinks she is in trouble, she falls apart. She can't stand the thought of someone being upset with her.
*One day she told us there were two kangaroos in the garden. She actually saw 2 deer. We laughed and laughed.
*Caimbree loves to laugh and she loves to make us laugh. She hears Heidi telling jokes and she repeats the jokes. If someone is laughing, she starts laughing hysterially...whether she knows what they are laughing at or not.
*She gets overwhelmed by people and social situations. She doesn't stress out with anxiety or scream, she just gets really, really quiet. If we have company, she generally doesn't say anything and then once they are gone, she repeats every conversation that happened while the company was here and talks a mile a minute to get everything out that she was holding in.
*She has always struggled with very vivid nightmares and will wake up screaming a few nights a week. She still believes there was a white dog with green eyes and black spots in her crib.
*She is finally adjusting to her bed, but we think naps are probably a thing of the past.
*Even when she doesn't want to be in a situation or with a certain person, she just gets quiet and deals with it. It makes things like nursery so much easier. She is the first child of mine who goes willingly to nursery.
*She is a major pill about trying new foods and especially picky about vegetables. I still have hope that one day I can get her to try a few and actually enjoy them.
*Caimbree gives the sweetest, best hugs.
*She loves babies, barbies, and playing kitchen.
*She sleeps with her build-a-bear "Pinky"
*She always says, "What in the whole wide world?"
*She seems to be more of a night owl and likes to sleep in longer than the other two in the mornings...the problem is really that the older two can't wait to see her and tend to wake her up before she's ready.
*She often replaces the d sound with a b sound. "That smells bisgusting."
*One night she said, "Remember when we were at the hotel and we went to the coconut museum and there was a bear?" I realized she meant the Coca Cola museum.
*She prefers women to men (except her dad of course). She is actually scared of most men.
*She is terrified of dogs and most animals, but loves them from a distance.
Overall, she is a sweet, tender hearted, darling little angel and we cannot imagine life without her little spirit in our home!
