trick or treat

I wish time could stand still.  I wish we could re-live days like today all over again.  Today was a fun, exciting, full of excitement kind of day.  The girls were bouncing off the walls.  Both Savanna and Heidi had little parties in their classes, neither could wear their costumes.  They had so much fun.  I got to help in Heidi's class with cookie decorating.  Heidi only had a half day of school today so she got to come pick up Savanna.  Savanna's little face lit up when she saw Heidi there too.  She ran and squeezed Heidi so tight!  It was so cute.  They got home and
exchanged stories about their day.  After naps we carved their pumpkins, ate dinner, and got in costumes. Watching these three was so fun this year.  They were just.so.cute!!!!!  I loved watching them run up to the doors with excitement.  They were so thrilled about it all.  They loved looking at each other in their costumes and it was so cute the little comments they made to each other.  I loved hearing them sing Frozen songs together.

Every time a fun holiday ends, I get a little sad.  I know they won't be this excited forever and I am going to miss it.  This stage is delightful and I'm sad to have it going so quickly.  I would say this year was a very successful Halloween!  Now it's time to get ready to celebrate our birthday girl!

byu alumni blue and white ball

Saturday night Jeff and I went to a BYU alumni ball.  We were lucky enough to go with a few of our great friends and we had a great time!  My sweet friend, Karen, came and watched the girls for us and they were happy and well taken care of!

We met some new people at the ball and we had a great time.  There were "mocktails" and dancing and food.  It was a fun night, and so fun to spend a little time with my hunk of husband.  I'm so lucky to have this man by side!

trunk or treat

We kicked off Halloween with our ward Trunk or Treat.  It was so fun and the Frozen costumes were so, so cute!!!!  They all three looked absolutely adorable!  I'm glad we ended up doing Olaf for Caimbree because she was seriously perfect for the costume.  The only movie the girls will even watch is Frozen and they never get sick of it.  They sing the songs all of the time and repeat lines from the movie.  It really was the perfect costume choice for them this year and I love that the theme of the movie is sisterly love. We love our ward and we had a great time.  We had dinner and a trunk or treat and then there was karaoke.  Heidi got up and Sang, "Let it Go".  She did such a great job!!!!  I cannot believe how willing she is to get up and sing.

Our ward is our family here and they have always been so welcoming to our family and so incredibly good to our girls.  We had a great time spending the evening with so many wonderful people and look forward to doing it again next year!

pumpkin patch

Last week Savanna, Caimbree, and I met some of our friends at the pumpkin patch!  We were really sad we couldn't take Heidi out of school.  It has been hard not to have her around when we do fun things like this during the day.  We had such a fun morning!!
Savanna has really started enjoying playing with other kids.  She get so attached to others quickly and loves to give hugs. This is her little friend, Dakota.  They were inseparable and I just loved watching Savanna have so much fun.

As always, the corn was a big hit.  They could have played in the corn all day!  Caimbree was loving the little tractors in there and sliding down into the corn.  It is such a fun pumpkin patch.  I'm sad we never had time to go to this one as a family.  Next year!

fifties day

Heidi has been in school 50 days.  I am not sure how she has been in school that many days, but they had a fun day celebrating dressed in 50s attire!  They even got to go to the gym and learn 50s dances.  It sounded like a fun day.  I kept laughing because when Heidi told me about needing to dress like she was from the 50s, she kept saying, "from the olden days".

We decided to surprise Heidi and join her for lunch.  The girls (and me!) really miss her when she is gone and I knew it would be a fun surprise.  She was so excited and wanted Caimbree to sit on her lap while she ate.  When we left Savanna kept asking if Heidi could come home with us and that she didn't want to leave Heidi.  I think they will like it when they are both in the school together.

potty training

Caimbree decided she wanted to be potty trained.  I wasn't even thinking about it yet, but I figured I probably shouldn't discourage her haha.  She was so funny the first day because she kept hiding behind the shower curtain while telling me knock knock jokes.  What a funny little girl our Caimbree is.  I wasn't sure she was ready, but within a day she was in underwear full time and only had a few accidents.  We are now a diaper and pull up free house hold and it feels so weird!  They are growing so fast!  Thanks for making the potty training so easy on your mama, Caimb!

costume day at dance

Last week was costume week at dance.  The girls were so excited!  They got to dance in their costumes and the parents got to come in and watch all that they have been learning.  I watch them in the parent room on the monitors every week, but getting to see them in the room, is always such a treat.  I am so proud of both of them!  Heidi has really gotten good and is able to do so much.  Her ballet has especially gotten good.  This year one of her best friends in her class at school, Avery, is in her dance class.  That has been really fun for both of them.

Savanna has blossomed so much this year.  Athletics in general seem to come pretty naturally to her.  It is so nice now that she just runs into class on her own and realizes how fun it is to do activities on her own.  I loved watching her little eyes sparkle when they were doing their Halloween song dance.  I am so proud of my little dancers!

loving my sweet girls

When we got home from our trip I found these little notes in my suitcase from Heidi.  She loves writing notes and stories and I love finding them all over the house.
Savanna has recently given up naps for the most part so she and I have been using nap time as our reading time.  It has been so fun to have this little bit of time with her and I love how excited she has gotten about the little stories we are reading.  I love my sweet, sweet girls.

fall break: family

The best part of our trip was spending time with family.  Both of my little brothers live in Detroit and we loved, loved, loved spending time with them.  It was so nice for both of them to host us and let us stay at their place.  The girls have the cutest cousin and they had so much fun with her.  She is the cutest, sweetest little girl with the most darling personality.  She let her cousins sleep in her room and they were so funny chatting with each other.  They also loved hearing stories from Aunt Rachel and Uncle Mark at night.  Mark won them over by being SO funny when he read to them.
Overall, it was just a super fun trip and we are so glad we were able to go!

fall break: henry ford museum

My dad was insistent that we stopped at the Henry Ford Museum.  The girls really enjoyed it!  We went through the museum and then we went on a bus over to where they build Ford trucks and we got to watch them put them together.  It was so cool and the girls of course loved the bus ride.

There was so much to see and do in the museum.  We just didn't have the time to see everything we wanted to see.  The girls were amazed and loved looking at all of the cars.

The museum didn't just have cars.  They had all kinds of historical stuff from each era in time including farm equipment, models of what homes looked like at certain eras. women's rights movement, and even the chair Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in.

Overall, we had such a fun day together!  We were glad my dad insisted that we go because it was really neat.  The girls all loved watching the trucks being built and Heidi even said she was interested in working there someday.  Maybe she will follow in her grandpa's footsteps and work for Ford!

fall break: apple orchard

We drove to Detroit to my brother Michael's house Wednesday night.  Thursday morning his wife, Gabby, came with us to pick apples at an apple orchard.  The girls absolutely adore Gabby so it made it extra fun.  We had the best day!  It was a lot colder than we are used to, but Michigan is beautiful.  The girls were so excited about getting the apples and were excitedly talking about their plans to make apple crisp when we got home.  They loved the apple donut and warm cider we got at the end of our adventure.  Apple picking was definitely a highlight of our trip!

fall break trip: chicago

The first stop on our trip was Chicago.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and it was pouring. We were hoping to tour the city and take the girls to the pier since they have been begging to go to a beach.  Instead we drove past m childhood home and school in Naperville.  The rain let up enough that we could go to a beach in Indiana (Porter Beach).  It only let up for about 15 minutes, but at least the girls got to experience it a little bit.  I guess we will have to take a trip to a beach soon!
