animal friends

I feel like our house is exploding with stuffed animals and I don't think we have purchased many of them.  Every time I turn around another one appears from somewhere. They are very well taken care of and have doctor check ups quite often.  What cracks me up about Heidi and her animals are the names she has chosen for them.

In this picture the one with the hairdo is "Hospital Bear"...Heidi got her at the hospital when we took her to the ER last year, of course.

"Sing Giraffy" is the pink giraffe, because she makes music.

"Orange, orange, orange, feet, feet, feet" and "Orange, orange, orange, beak, beak, beak" are the chicks.  These names crack me up for obvious reasons.  Her friend dropped those by around Easter.

"Giraffy" is the fuzzy giraffe and is definitely Heidi's most favorite.  She came from my best friend from high school and hasn't left Heidi's bed since she got her when she turned 2.
Besides Giraffy, these are the other animals that sleep with Heidi in her bed.  I'm afraid there won't be room for Heidi in the bed soon. "Gracie" and "Greta" came from Jeff for Valentine's Day...I'm surprised they got regular names.  "Lambie" came from Santa and then the red monkey is "Pink Face Pink Ears"...another one of my favorite names. "Pink face, pink ears" was dropped off from a friend around Valentine's Day.
Heidi has two pillow pets.  We bought her the ladybug (which is actually a butterfly I think) in exchange for her binkys back in the day. Her name is "Lily Lums".  Unfortunately we had to buy another one when we forgot Lilly Lums when we went to grandma's one time and there was no way she was going to sleep without a pillow pet.  The dog is "Doggy Dogs."

The dog is "Heili" (Hi-Lee), the cat is "Singing Kitty", then there's "Pink and white pups", and lastly "Pinky Stinky."

I have a feeling these animals will be with us for quite a few more years.  Every time I go to clean them out I realize she would definitely notice if one of them disappeared so instead I find them all over the house.  They are definitely Heidi's friends and bring her a lot of joy so I try to patient with her stuffed animal obsession.  Oh and don't ever refer to any of her animals as "he".  You will be lectured on how they are definitely ALL girls.

funny little savanna

Savanna really is a hoot.  I found a bunch of pictures I have been meaning to post about this funny little toddler.  She can often be found wandering around with random objects in her mouth.  I would say it's binky withdrawal, but she has done this for quite some time.  Usually there is nothing in either hand, she just likes to use her mouth to help her transport items.
Both of the girls like to hang out on the stairs for some reason.  Heidi likes to pretend to take naps on the stairs so of course Savanna does too.  She is definitely Heidi's little shadow.
Grandpa and Grandma Hunziker gave Savanna this rocking giraffe for her birthday.  She finally figured out to get on herself and take it for a ride.  Love her cheeser in this picture.  She doesn't just ride it, of course. She tries to stand on the saddle and rock and she enjoys rocking with her feet on the handlebars.  Seriously, such a character.
Savanna found the bumbo seat the other day and has enjoyed playing around in it.  When she realized we were all laughing at her tipping her head back, she kept doing it over and over again giggling her funny growly laugh.
Oh Savanna.  Little climber.  She must be watched at all times because she cannot control herself...she climbs the oven, the fridge, the chairs, the table, you name it, she climbs it.  She likes to get about 2 steps up and then let her feet dangle while hanging from the rails.  No wonder she is always sporting a bruise.
Heidi had to get a stick horse for one of her dances in dance class.  At first, Heidi would ride it and Savanna would wander around riding whatever she could find...lotion bottles, legos, rubber ducks...it was hilarious.  Now she figured out how to ride the stick horse and she loves it.   I miss watching her "ride" random items around the house.

What would we ever do without little Savanna??  She definitely keeps us laughing!

easter, part 3

We colored eggs on Saturday night.  Both of the girls had fun.

Heidi loved having her dad and my brother Michael give her ideas of what she could do to make her eggs look extra cool.
Savanna was so cute.  She would get a surprised look on her face when we would pull the egg out of the dye.  She was fascinated in the whole process and may or may not have cracked a few in the process.
One of the days we made Easter cookies to take to our friends and neighbors.  Heidi's favorite part was the sprinkles and Savanna's was sneaking pieces of dough.
Easter morning was fun. The girls were excited to come downstairs and see what the Easter bunny brought.
Savanna was impossible to get a picture of because she couldn't believe her luck at finding so many sweets.

We had a wonderful Easter and can't wait to celebrate again next year!

easter, part 2

Serious picture overload...but I couldn't choose my favorites. After the community Easter egg hunt we came home and did another hunt.  The weather was just so nice and the girls couldn't have been happier to do another hunt.  Savanna was SO cute.  She carried her basket like this most of the time.
Heidi was a sweet big sister and helped Savanna find eggs for her basket.
Both girls were laughing and smiling the whole time.  You would have never known this was about the fifth egg hunt they had that week.
Wherever Heidi is, Savanna isn't far behind.  I love it.
We had spent the day before finishing up the flower planter.  I am happy with how it turned out and can't wait for the flowers to start popping up.
Our little Savanna is just too cute  She was so excited and got this face every time she found an egg.  Love, love, love her happy little disposition.

Savanna got a little distracted halfway through the hunt when she found an egg in the trunk of her little bike.  She then spent he next 10 minutes taking her eggs out of her basket and putting them in the car and then back in her basket.  I think it was the only time she wasn't with Heidi.
We were so grateful for the beautiful weather.  The girls are at such fun ages and we had fun watching their excitement.

easter, part 1

I always end up taking millions of pictures of Easter so I am just going to split it into a lot of posts because when I make my blog book it turns out better.

We started really celebrating Easter on Saturday.  There was a community egg hunt at Fort Bridger.  It was the most beautiful day and the girls had a lot of fun.

They did a great job splitting the kids by age so the little ones had a fair chance.  Jeff gave Heidi a bunch of pointers before she started and she made out pretty good.  I had to wake Savanna early from her nap to get there on time so she wasn't in the best of spirits, but as soon as she realized there was candy in the eggs she was all about it and couldn't have been happier.

Both of the girls were so fun this year.  Savanna loved trying to open the eggs on her own and always got the funniest face while her whole body was shook trying to get those tight eggs open.  It was a fun morning and it felt so nice to be outside.

bruiser 2

The girls have been obsessed with hunting for eggs ever since Monday night.  Jeff was playing Easter egg hunt with them and there was a lot of giggling and pitter pattering of little feet.  Every game gets a little wild when dad is involved.  I heard all three of them laughing and squealing like school girls downstairs.  Then out of nowhere I heard Heidi screaming.  I don't know why, but whenever I hear one of the girls start screaming I automatically worry they knocked all of their teeth out. Is that normal?  Anyway, Heidi still has all of her teeth. Phew.
Apparently, Jeff hid one of the eggs in Savanna's pants.  As Heidi was wrestling Savanna to hold still so she could retrieve the egg, she smacked her cheek on the kitchen tile.  It was bright red and I knew it would bruise.  It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it's darker than the pictures.  Once the initial shock and pain ended, Heidi was fine and back to hiding eggs.  Now I think she thinks her bruise is cool because she likes to look at it in the mirror and remind me how she got it.

family night fun

I love Monday nights.  I love that my girls absolutely love family night.  I would like to say it's always perfect and runs so smoothly every time, but it definitely does not.  Like last week when Savanna just wanted to go to bed and loudly protested the whole evening.  This week was another one to remember.  The girls were super, super hyper tonight for some reason and before family night they were just giggling chasing each other and playing funny little games. Heidi calmed down for family night and couldn't wait for our Easter family night.  Savanna didn't quite get the calm down memo.  We always start with a song that is usually me trying to play while Heidi also plays next to me singing in her cute little voice.  Tonight Savanna insisted on playing as well and she was trying to play with her feet and her head and whatever else she thought would be hilarious.
When Jeff was trying to tell the story of the Resurrection, Savanna was quite distracting running around like a maniac and doing everything she could possibly think of to distract Heidi.  As frustrating as it was at times, it was also hilarious.
After learning about why we celebrate Easter, the girls went on an Easter egg hunt with pictures of all the events hidden in eggs.  Savanna was funny because after she would find one, she would put it back where she found it.
After the hunt, Heidi put the pictures in order and told us the story.  I was shocked she was able to tell it as well as she did considering all the distractions during Jeff's rendition.
Afterwards, Heidi insisted on more egg hunts.  Sunday just can't come soon enough.  So she sent her dad "looking" for the eggs she hid. This was hilarious because the second he came in the room she would blurt out exactly where to go.  "DAD!  I PUT THEM ALL IN MOM'S SHOES!"  "DAD!  THERE'S ONE IN THE BOUNCER!"  Egg hunts and lots of giggling went on for a good hour afterwards. Can I just freeze time right here?  Can I just keep my girls little and innocent forever?

baby cows

For about a month now Heidi and Savanna have been glued to the windows.  The cows started having their babies and it has been so very, very exciting.  We all enjoy watching a new one join the herd and it is so fun to watch them run around and sleep in the hay.
The little baby calves are so adorable and it is fun for Heidi to figure out which ones are their moms.  Some of them are really obvious (like the white calf with black speckles...the mom is identical).  I had a hard time getting a good picture of the calves and you'll just have to take my word for it that they are adorable.
