Easter day

On Easter morning Jeff and I were so excited to see Heidi's reaction to her Easter basket.  While she was excited, she was not her best self that day.  What is it about holidays??  I seem to remember her having a rough Christmas morning too.  Anywho...she was more than thrilled with this little piggy the Easter bunny brought her.  She had to have her pig on her tray while she ate breakfast and she hasn't hardly put the thing down since Sunday.
Of course she was thrilled to open eggs.  She says, "POP!" every time she opens one.  She loves plastic eggs.  We never even put her eggs away from last year because she has so much fun playing with them.  She was thrilled to have a new stash since the ones from last year are well loved and a lot of them have been lost throughout the year!
When we were getting candy for her eggs Jeff insisted on getting robin eggs so he could show Heidi how to color her lips.  I'm not sure who was more excited about it.
Heidi kept wanting to look in the mirror at her blue lips and she kept saying, "Blue lips!  Blue lips!" all day long.
Holidays are so, so, so much more fun with this little one around!  The countdown is on for the Fourth of July!

the egg hunt(s)

I had a feeling Heidi would love hunting for eggs this year, and her excitement did not disappoint.  Jeff and Michael had fun hiding her eggs around the back yard.
Heidi had to have a little help reaching a few of the eggs.
Nothing cuter than watching her reach for the eggs.  She would clap every time she got one and say, "Yay!"
The basket started getting heavy after awhile and she would say, "Backa heavy!"
Once she collected all of her eggs, she kept saying, "More!  More eggy!  Eggy tree!  More!"  So we hid the eggs again...and again...and to be honest, we are still hiding them at least once a day!  How can you say no to that little face?

dying the eggs

Easter was so much this year.  Heidi loved every single part of the festivities from dying eggs to wearing a "fancy dress" to church.  We colored eggs on Friday night and Heidi had an absolute blast.  She loves colors so she loved picking what color to make each egg.
As soon as the egg went in the dye she wanted to pick it up and admire it.  We told her it had to dry first.  So naturally she started blowing on the eggs.  I guess she figured it was like when we paint her nails and tell her we have to blow them dry before she touches anything.
She wanted daddy to start blowing the eggs dry with her.
My little brother, Michael, came up from Utah State to join in all the Easter festivities.  We had so much fun!

curlers

I have a whole bunch of Easter pictures to post, but I decided I better post these before they get lost in all the festivities.  The other day Heidi found sponge rollers and wanted them in her hair.  I don't know how she even knew what they were.  I know I've said it before, but she is so girly!  From the way she runs, to the way she stands, to the way she always wants to look "pretty".  She would not let me take them out and kept saying, "Curlers, pretty!  Wow!"  Then she would run to check herself out in the mirror.
She even wanted to play her favorite hide and seek game sporting the curlers...hiding in the same spot she always hides in.
I finally got her to let me take them out before we had to run to the store, but the next morning it was the first thing she wanted me to do.  She climbed right up on dad's lap to read a book, eat her toast, and sport her curlers.  We love her little personality!
